oh, Jakarta-ku

why are you so, so semrawut, and even semruwet?

traffic here's a bitch
and everyone knows it.
but it's amazing how no one does anything to improve it.
or make it better somehow.

so i suggest, go out and about very late at night.
and i'm talking around 1 am.
and you'll find the Jakarta that you've never seen before.
not even in your dreams..

Shakespeare in Love

"Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?"

Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?
Thou art more lovely and more temperate:
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
And summer's lease hath all too short a date:
Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines,
And often is his gold complexion dimm'd;
And every fair from fair sometime declines,
By chance, or nature's changing course, untrimm'd;
But thy eternal summer shall not fade,
Nor lose possession of that fair thou owest;
Nor shall Death brag thou wander'st in his shade,
When in eternal lines to time thou growest;
So long as men can breathe, or eyes can see,
So long lives this, and this gives life to thee.

William Shakespeare

now when will our modern-day Prince Charming(s) ever learn to put together/say these sort of words in front of us sans whining (or being childish in general)?
or as Carrie (Bradshaw, of couse) put it, have we lost our romantic side?

life's fun fact #23493208432: alcohol effect

the last time i "binge" drink (and i use this term very, very loosely as our loverly government started being a real tight-ass on the alcohol consumption rule - thus leaving me with the impression that I "binge drink" every single time and i can assure you that it is acutely not true),
the next morning i woke up with:

1. a slight hangover that i nursed with a cup of tea and E!'s THS.
2. a new boyfriend.

so kids, lesson learned, alcohol is probably not as bad as your parents/teachers would've said.
*wink*

To quote the great John F. Kennedy,

"Ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country"

i think we tend to forget these two simple lines.
